Super Stardust Portable Review

Super Stardust Portable is the little brother to the smash-hit PSN title, Super Stardust HD, and is currently sitting on the European PSN Store for £6.30. With a lot to live up to, will this game manage to match its big brother? Or is the PSP too limited a piece of hardware for the game to meet its potential or for it to even be worth the asking price? Read on to find out for yourself.

Left 4 Dead mini-rant

Hey, here’s a two-fer.

This is just a rant however. I feel that the impressions that Jobocan posted covered alot of what needs to be said about Left 4 Dead.

So here goes. I absolutely detest people that either purposefully throw the game because they couldn’t play with their friends or just want to be a douche about things. Last night I did not find a single game where I had competent team mates. When it’s one single person just having fun in the saferoom you can vote kick him no problem. A replacement should take his place rather quickly due to the drop in drop out nature of this game. But when 2 out of the 4 survivors are doing this you can bet your ass I’m going to call return to lobby and leave once the vote passes. Also… if you think you’re Arnold or some crap like that and can take on 3 to 4 specials on your own. You’re doing your team a disservice. By straying you’re openning yourself to an ambush or possibly the rest of the team. Once the alliance falls down to 3 it’s quite easy to take it appart with the right timing.

Rant over.
Play cooperatively and run like hell.

Oh yeah, playing as a zombie rocks.

Gears of War 2 review.

Greetings all, without further ado, my Gears of War 2 review.

I’ve played the campaign to completion and played a decent amount of Horde offline and online. I have not touched the other multi player modes unfortunately.

More after the break!

Interesting post on the gaming community

Great read @ Kotaku from Leigh Alexander.

I seriously suggest you to read this, it pinpoints accurately the huge gap between gamers that reads reviews online, that checks infos before buying, etc.. compared to the random guy, not less of a gamer then you and me, but that doesn’t even know what IGN, Gamespot, etc. are.

But yeah, what kind of Gamestop employee doesn’t know those sites? (/facepalm X 9001)

I fully understand this situation, but at the same time, don’t you feel like screaming ZOMG WTF N00B!?!

Wii Review – Castlevania Judgment

Oh, I think I linked to a Death Note image by error.... oh wait, it does says Castlevania Judgment... weird...

Oh, I think I linked to a Death Note image by error.... sorry about that... oh wait, it does say Castlevania Judgment.. weird...

A Castlevania fighting game? Inconceivable! But it’s true. And despite all low expectations, this is actually not too bad.

Though I’ve only rented it, I’ve played a substantial amount of time and went through most of the story modes(and a few “True” story modes),  lots of VS(tried all the characters) and a bit of Castle mode. Read on for more info and my impressions.

PS3 Review – Mirror’s Edge

When this game was first released, most gamers were likely filled with either awe or doubt. A first person game that barely had any shooting and concentrated on platforming/parkour, in a unique graphical style. I wasn’t the only one to be interested by such a concept. Seeing it in action was unlike pretty much anything else I’ve seen before.

The hype for this was huge. Does it live up to it, or is it gonna be considered overhyped?

NXE!

Just a quick blurb! Most everyone will be getting NXE in 3 days. I managed to get into the preview’s last wave. It’s very nice. I like how things work now, I just wish it pulled data from XBL faster and seamlessly. The avatars don’t take up as much “emphase” as you would assume. Yes they’re there, but you don’t see them walking around or doing anything.

So, what do I like about this whole NXE thing? THEMES! I just put some picture I pulled from my PC as a background for my dashboard. Yes, PS3/PSP have been able to do this forever. They still allow you to customize the interface a whole lot more. But I’m happy with this. Now I have Nono and Dix-neuf as my background.

DS Review – Dragon Ball: Origins

Ah, Dragon Ball. Atari just can’t stop milking the franchise. But they come to us this time with something a little different. Instead of going with Dragon Ball Z, they bring us part of the original Dragon Ball adventure. Yeah, I was surprised when they announced that. Even in the NES/SNES era, Dragon Ball games mostly concentrated on Z (with a few exceptions), so this was quite welcome.

Now I still wasn’t sure what to expect from the game itself.
So let’s see if it’s actually any good.

First impressions: Left 4 Dead (PC demo)

When I first heard of this, I thought it would be something similar to RE4, with slow useless zombies that aren’t exactly hard to kill or anything, and overall wouldn’t interest me.
I recently saw some videos and thought “Whoa, this looks crazy”. Well today the demo was made available to the public (instead of just people who pre-ordered) so I thought i’d take a gander.

Read on for my impressions.
