www.thesavepoints.com changed hosts a few days ago. We now have a faster and hopefully better host to bring out reviews and such. Come visit us on the site over there instead of here where we don’t post anymore.

Just saying…
Well, I was planning on making more “what’s been going on at thesavepoints.com” posts, but I’m like 2 months late and don’t want to waste my time.
So instead this post will link to the actual website and I won’t bother with making posts here, unless we post something big. Which doesn’t seem to be the case for a while.
So yeah… COME VISIT US AT www.thesavepoints.com
there will be cake
A bit has been going on at the new address. Reviews, rants, big random posts.
Valkryst started his cosplay feature (which he’s late on right now…), and the contest announced last time was cancelled because we literally had no response out of it, but we’ll do something else later on.

HUGE UPDATE
Well, we didn’t have posts in the last few days, but we’ve got a good reason for that: we’re expanding just a bit.
That’s right. We bought our own domain and hosting, so now you can see us at http://www.thesavepoints.com/ . We were setting this up in the last few days. There are still some adjustments to be done, but overall it’s done setting up.
(Dave, wintrale, vic, valkryst(?) if you have trouble logging on at the new address just tell me)
In the future we’ll be personalizing that quite a bit. New design, we’ll have a logo, you know the works. Currently it looks just like this one, but in a while we’ll be adding changes.
This blog won’t die though. I’ll keep updating here, just posting from time to time with ”What’s been going on at thesavepoints.com” kinda posts.
As for post we’ll be doing over there, I have like 5 reviews lined up and maybe some rants. Kyolux and Vic also have some reviews (and Kyo has a fun post) coming up, not sure what else. Wintrale might have some nice import reviews before the end of year if all goes well on highly anticipated titles, and Valkryst might eventually start posting his new feature.
Well, not much more to say, come meet us at http://www.thesavepoints.com/, we’ve got some cool stuff coming.
For starters on our new site: The best of 2008 in gaming!

Whoa, how did I forget to review this?
Well, being a fightng game fan, it was hard to ignore the latest rendition of Capcom’s Street Fighter 2. Having a solid fighting engine already, a big following, people were hyped for this, and for good reason.
Well, I’m a Street Fighter fan, but I’m in no way a pro. I don’t play at pixel and frame perfect levels, but I still really enjoy playing SF2.
Now Capcom brings us a visually updated and rebalanced version of Super Street Fighter 2, so let’s check it out.

This game is currently in closed beta.
Well, this is my first MMORPG in a long time. The only other MMORPG I’ve played extensively is Ragnarok Online on private servers.
So really I’m not a big MMORPG fan, but this one caught my attention for a simple reason: Shin Megami Tensei, and when I looked up some info it made me think of Nocturne… a little bit. Though I’m not big on MMORPGs, I’ll do my best to describe this.
So here are my first impressions on the game. I only played around 2-3 hours, so I know it’s not exactly enough to go very deep in the game and to get a 100% precise impression, but at least I went through the basics of the game.
Read on for moar.

DS Review: Chrono Trigger

Chrono Trigger. Regarded as one of the best, if not the best, RPG on the SNES, some people calling it the best RPG ever. And not without reason, as this is truly a masterpiece. It’s no surprise that the DS remake was long awaited to fans of the series.
After 13 years (the original SNES version was released in 1995), does it still hold its own? And what about the extra content? Let’s check that out!

Oh, I think I linked to a Death Note image by error.... sorry about that... oh wait, it does say Castlevania Judgment.. weird...
A Castlevania fighting game? Inconceivable! But it’s true. And despite all low expectations, this is actually not too bad.
Though I’ve only rented it, I’ve played a substantial amount of time and went through most of the story modes(and a few “True” story modes), lots of VS(tried all the characters) and a bit of Castle mode. Read on for more info and my impressions.

PS3 Review – Mirror’s Edge

When this game was first released, most gamers were likely filled with either awe or doubt. A first person game that barely had any shooting and concentrated on platforming/parkour, in a unique graphical style. I wasn’t the only one to be interested by such a concept. Seeing it in action was unlike pretty much anything else I’ve seen before.
The hype for this was huge. Does it live up to it, or is it gonna be considered overhyped?
