What’s going on at thesavepoints.com Volume 2

A bit has been going on at the new address. Reviews, rants, big random posts.

Valkryst started his cosplay feature (which he’s late on right now…), and the contest announced last time was cancelled because we literally had no response out of it, but we’ll do something else later on.

Little Big Planet in-depth review

I already covered Little Big Planet back in the beta, well mostly how the game works. So I won’t repeat what has already been said, just go back to it if you want details on that part, since most of it is pretty much the same, just more polished. So here’s my Little Big Planet review!

Free Realms BETA signup (MMORPG on PS3)

I don’t really know anything on Free Realms, I’ll look into it a bit later today (when I’m done with my LBP review), but for now, here’s a link to the game’s Beta registration page.  It’s free to register, so why not?

UPDATE: On one side, you have what looks like a game oriented to a family, so far from the type of gamers most of us are. But it still seems interesting to see how this game comes out, as there’s 18 classes and you can switch between them whenever you want. (Not all classes are fighting classes)

Tokyo Game Show – Day Two

Today I spent most of my time playing around on PS3 games, sticking to Sony’s “camp” and playing a handful of their exclusive titles – namely, Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm, Demon Souls, Resistance 2 and Killzone 2. I even got my hands on Street Fighter IV. : D

Tokyo Game Show – Day One

Well, today I managed to get a hold of a few Xbox360 games. I had my hands wrapped around Dissidia for about an hour, for sure, but that didn’t stop me playing Bionic Commando, Ninja Blade, The Last Remnant and Star Ocean 4, however. I can’t really go too much into depth, given how tight a schedule I’m on at the moment – we’re about to sit down to watch The Machine Girl – so I’ll just quickly outline a few things… I’ll be back sometime on Monday, at which time I’ll write a lot more indepth views of each of the games I’ve played. Keep your eyes peeled, okay?

New Nintendo DS goes “i” and Dragon Ball movie trailer FAILS *update* NEW PUNCH-OUT game

During their Fall Press Conference today, Nintendo have – as expected – announced a new version of the Nintendo DS. Called the Nintendo DSi, it eschews the GBA slot (boo!) in favour of a slight downsizing (it’s a little thinner) and a range of improvements. The handheld’s screens have been enlarged, and will now be 17% bigger (at 3.25 inches) than those found on the DS Lite. As for the rumoured additions, both have proven to be correct, with “audio enhancements” made to the handheld, while it will also now include a .3 megapixel (640×480) camera. And that’s just the start of it.

The DSi also features an SD memory card slot, making it possible to take pictures with the DSi and then view them on the Nintendo Wii. The DSi features a built-in browser, and it’s possible to download games and keep them on the DSi.

For digital delivery purchases, there is a DSi Shop, from which users can download DSiWare from. Pricing categories for the DSiWare are: Free, 200 points, 500 points and “Premium” or 800 points. Customers will get 1000 free points to spend at the DSi Shop that are good until March 2010.

The DSi will be released in Japan on November 1. It will retail for ¥18,900 (USD$180), and will be available in two colours, white and black.

Reports Kotaku.
